• Mrs. Susie Reimer, 81, widow of Henry J. Reimer, died Sunday at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel where she had been a patient the past six years. The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church, with Rev. Aaron Epp in charge. Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Reimer was a lifelong resident of Marion County. She leaves sons Milton and Richard of rural Canton, Wilbert of Savage, Minn., Eldon of Newton and John of rural Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Orville Unruh of rural Newton and Rosella of Peabody; three sisters; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MRS. HENRY J. REIMER

Mrs. Henry J. Reimer, the former Susie Loewen of Goessel, Kan., daughter of Jacob M. and Anna Buller Loewen, was born Apr. 14, 1887 in Marion County, Kansas.

She was baptized on May 22, 1904 by Elder Peter Balzer and received into the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, where she remained a faithful member.

She was married to Henry J. Reimer on May 22, 1910 with Rev. Heinrich Banman officiating. They lived on a farm in McPherson County most of their married life. In 1960 they moved to Goessel. In the ensuing years Mrs. Reimer's health failed and she became a patient in the Bethesda Hospital in September of 1962, where she remained a patient until her death on Sept. 7, 1968, having reached the age of 81 years.

It was their privilege to celebrate their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries. Mr. Reimer died Jan. 13, 1967.

She was a faithful participant in the life of the church as long as her health allowed. She was a member of the mission society and took her responsibility as a deacon's wife seriously. Much of her concern and time was devoted to the care of their daughter Rosella who is physically handicapped. Through example she taught her family submission to the will of God and to face difficulty with an uncomplaining attitude.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are their seven children: Milton and wife Mary of Rt. 2, Canton, John and wife Martha of Rt. 2, Hillsboro, Wilbert and wife Ruth of Savage, Minn., Eldon and wife Emilee of Newton, Richard and wife Evelyn of Rt. 2, Canton, Elsie and husband Orville Unruh of Rt. 2, Newton, Mrs. Mary Stubby and Mrs. Sara Ewert, both of Hillsboro; and many relatives and friends. Three grandchildren preceded her in death.

Interment was at the Alexanderwohl Cemetery, Goessel. The service [sic] were conducted by Rev. Aaron J. Epp, pastor of the Alexanderwohl Church — The Family.
