WAS HELPING CARE FOR FARM WHILE COUPLE MADE EUROPEAN TRIP

Ste. Anne, Manitoba. — Twenty-four-year-old Johnny Reimer whose marriage occurred only a few months ago, was instantly killed a 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, when pinned under a small tractor.

Funeral services were arranged for Oct. 23 at the Greenland church of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.

The young man and his wife, the former Doris Warkentin, to whom he was married on Aug. 7 of this year, were taking care of the Eldon Warkentin's farm and their five small children while the Warkentin's went on a two-month trip to Italy to visit Mrs. Warkentin' s Grandmother Quasso and other relatives.

Reimer and the hired man at the farm were attempting to start a large tractor by pulling it with a small tractor. As they started up with Reimer on the small tractor, it flipped over backward, crushing him underneath.

Surviving in addition to the widow are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter B. Reimer, seven brothers, four sisters, his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jake D. Warkentine [sic Warkentin], and one brother-in-law.
