JOHN J. REIMER

John Reimer was born on November 18, 1913 in Blumenort, Siberia, the son of John J. Reimer and Katherine Kasper. He moved to Canada in 1926 and settled with his family in Boissevain, Man. Boissevain remained his home until 1945, when he moved to B .C. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour at the age of 26 years, and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church in Boissevain in 1940.

Several years after moving to B.C. he started a lumber business with his brother. In 1948 he and Tina Wiens were married, and God blessed them with three children. The Reimers have farmed in the South Abbotsford area for many years. Mr. Reimer enjoyed activities like singing, travelling, going out with his family and visiting friends. The family will remember him as a loving, patient, kind husband and father. In 1974 he suffered a serious heart attack; his health began to fail again in September, 1976. He entered the hospital in January after an enjoyable Christmas with the family, and the Lord called him home on March 21.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Tina; a son, Bob; two daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Ed) Balzer and Irene; two granddaughters, Alison and Jennifer; his father, John J . Reimer; his brothers and sisters, Peter Reimer, Henry and Helen Reimer; Kay Reimer, Ben and Margaret Wall, Bernie and Nora Reid, Helen Reimer, Vic and Jenny Pries; and many relatives and friends.
