JOHN F. REIMER

John F. Reimer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Klaas P. Reimer, was born June 10, 1901 at Blumenordt, Man. and passed out of this life on July 27, reaching the age of 58 years, one month and 17 days.

While still a young man he heeded the Gospel message and accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Thereupon he was baptized and joined the Kleinegemeinde Mennonite church at Blumenordt on Oct. 5, 1924.

Soon thereafter he came to Meade, Kan. where he was joined in holy wedlock with Anna R. Friesen on Dec. 3, 1925. They endured the disappointments and enjoyed the pleasures of life for more than 33 years. To this union were born two sons.

By occupation he was a machinist. In 1939 the family moved to Clear Springs, Man. for a brief time, then to Hutchinson, Kan. for 18 months. In 1941 they returned to Fowler, Kan., where he lived the rest of his life. He joined the Emmanuel Mennonite church of Meade, Kan. in 1948.

Generally he was in good health, using all his abilities to further the cause of the home and family. He had the ability to put his time to constructiveness. Thus he pursued his labors joyfully until unexpectedly he had a heart attack in the early morning hours of July 20. He was immediately admitted to the Fowler hospital. On several occassions [sic] he was questioned as to the status of his relationship with the Lord. His answer gave evidence of his affirmed embrace of the grace of God. After a week of suffering he began to respond very favorably to treatment so that on the morning of July 27 he came to have a renewed outlook on life once more. Yet it pleased our Heavenly Father to call him from us on the afternoon of the same day.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, two sons, Albert and Johnny, both of Hillsboro; two daughters-in-law, three grandsons, and four granddaughters, his aged mother, residing with children in Manitoba; three brothers, Henry and Bernard of Blumenordt, Man. and Klaas in British Honduras; three sisters, Mrs. Klaas Penner, Geroux, Man.; Mrs. Peter Penner, Steinbach, Man.; and Mrs. Peter Plett, Prairie Rose, Man. and many other relatives and friends. His father, four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
