— Funeral services for Abraham H. Reimer, who died Monday evening in a Hutchinson hospital, are to be held here Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., at the First Mennonite church. The services will be in charge of Rev. J. J. Voth and Rev. J. E. Entz. Mr. Reimer, 68, was a former member of the local church and lived in Newton until 11 years ago, whenhe and his family moved to Hutchinson. He was born in Marion county Nov. 17, 1886, a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Henry Reimer. Dec. 20, 1908 he was married at Mt. View, Okla. to Helena Goertz, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gerh. (Alice) Nickel, Newton; Mrs. Harold (Elsie) Stucky, Hutchinson; Mrs. Albert (Leona) Vogt, Hutchinson, and Mrs. Henry (Clara) Yabrof Jr., Northridge, Calif.

ABRAHAM H. REIMER

Abraham H. Reimer, son of Rev. Henry and Justina Isaac Reimer, was born near Lehigh, Marion county, Kansas, on Nov. 17, 1886. At the age of 15 his family moved to Mountain View, Okla. where they made their home.

He was married on Dec. 29, 1908, to Helena Goertz of Gotebo, Okla. They established their home near Mt. View, Okla. where they lived until 1928 when they moved to Newton, Kansas and later, in 1943 to Hutchinson, Kansas.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour early in life and united with the Mennonite church of Gotebo, Okla., later transferring his membership to the First Mennonite church of Newton, Kansas. He was always interested in the program of the church. He especially loved to work with young people, serving as Christian Endeavor leader and Sunday School supt. In time of illness and sorrow of neighbors and friends, he gladly offered any help that he could. He served his community in various ways, among which was several years of district school board service.

Following several years of failing health the Lord called him to rest on August 1, 1955, at 9 o’clock p. m., while a patient at Grace hospital at Hutchinson, Kansas, at the age of 68 years, eight months and 15 days.

He leaves to mourn his wife Helena; four daughters, Alice and husband, Gerhard Nickel, of Newton; Elsie and husband, Harold Stucky, of Hutchinson; Leona and husband Albert Vogt, of Hutchinson; Clara and husband, Henry Yabrof, of Northridge, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one grandaughter-in-law [sic]; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Nickelson of Ottawa, Kansas, Mrs. David Jantz of Chehalis, Wash., and Mrs. Pete Koehn of Ferndale, Wash., and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Pamela Kay Yabrof, who died in January 1954 at the age of nine years, his father, mother, four brothers and four sisters.

We mourn, but not as such who have no hope.

Funeral services were held in the First Mennonite church of Newton, Kansas on Thursday morning, August 4, 15 9:30, with Rev. J. J. Voth and Rev. J. E. Entz officiating. Rev. Voth used as his text Phillippians [sic Philippians] 1:21, Rev. J. E. Entz read the commital [sic] services at the graveside. he was laid to rest in the Alexanderwhol [sic Alexanderwohl] cemetery.
