Receive $12,000 Gift From Estate

Bethel College is the recipient of an unrestricted $12,000 gift from the heirs of the Mr. and Mrs. Sam Regier estate.

During their lifetime Mr. and Mrs. Regier were faithful supporters of Bethel College, taking particular interest in the peace studies program. Both were graduates of the Bethel Academy.

They lived and farmed in the Moundridge community and were members of the Hebron Mennonite Church until moving to North Newton upon retirement, and joining the Bethel College Mennonite Church.

The Regiers had suggested to their children that their home at 111 West 23rd St. be sold upon their death and the proceeds given to charitable institutions. Bethel college became a major recipient from these funds.

Regier died in 1969 and his wife in 1973, and the wishes of the Regiers were then faithfully carried out by the children — Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Regier, Moundridge; Mr. and Mrs. Austin Regier, North Muskegon, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. W. Jack (Elizabeth) Unruh, Tecumseh.
