KATIE L. W. REGIER

Katie L. W. Regier, daughter of Jacob A. and Elizabeth Wall Regier, was born March 13, 1897 near Moundridge, Kansas.

She was baptized upon confession of her faith in her Saviour in 1923 and united with the Hebron Mennonite church.

She received her education at Bethel academy and college after which she taught in elementary schools for six years in the Moundridge and Hesston communities.

She went to Oregon in September 1927 and had been employed at the Salem Memorial hospital since March 1931. On January 1, 1939, she transferred her church membership from the Hebron Mennonite church in Kansas and united with the First Baptist church in Salem, where she remained a faithful member until her sudden death Oct. 13, 1953.

Her father and mother and two infant brothers preceded her in death. Surviving her are four sisters, Elizabeth, Mrs. Wm Schmidt of Moundridge, Anna, Mrs. John Stepnack of Vancouver, Wash. Mary, Mrs. Victor Wolf of Oregon City, Oregon, Margaret, Mrs. Ben Klassen of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, George L. W. Regier of Moundridge and John L. W. Regier of Hillsboro; six nephews and six nieces and their families and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 19, 1953, at the West Zion Mennonite church, Moundridge. She was laid to rest in the Hebron Mennonite church cemetery.
