JOHN A. REGIER

John A. Regier of Herbert, Sask., passed away on August 27. He was born May 22, 1908 in southern Russia, second child of Abram an Margaret Regier. The family immigrated to Herbert in fall, 1924; he accepted Christ as his Saviour at age 18 and joined the Conference Mennonite Church in Herbert; married Susie Krahn on November 20, 1930 in a double wedding with Agnes and Jake Krahn; they farmed in the Reed Valley School District near Herbert; later he was baptized and joined the MB church in Herbert. He was active in many church committees over the years, also in the Town Council and Co-op board. He is survived by his wife Susie; two daughters, Elvira (Mrs. Walter) Neufled, Herbert and Gwen (Mrs. John) Martens, Boissevain, Man.; three sons, John and Tiena, Herbert, Abe and Elaine, Saskatoon and Ron and Wendy, Sparwood, B.C. The funeral took place on October 1 in the Herbert MB Church, with pastor Jacob Pauls officiating.
