• Peter T. Regier, 78, retired farmer of the Buhler community, died Monday at the Halstead Hospital after a one-year illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Mennonite Church of Hutchinson, of which he was a member. Rev. Wendell Rempel will officiate. Mr. Regier was a native of the Moundridge community and had lived near Buhler the past 44 years. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth E. and Hulda Regier of the home.

PETER T. REGIER

Peter T. Regier, was born on Aug. 25, 1885, to A. A. and Elizabeth Toews Regier on a farm east of Buhler where he spent his early childhood and received his elementary education.

Upon his confession of faith, he was baptized by Rev. A. M. Martens in September of 1906, and became a member of the Hebron Mennonite Church, Buhler, Kan.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wiens on Nov. 20, 1908. The Lord blest this union with two daughters, Elizabeth Edna and Hulda Elma.

Following their marriage they resided on a farm and in 1919 moved to the present farm where he labored faithfully proving himself to be an industrious farmer and a good provider for the family.

Together with his wife he transferred his church membership to the First Mennonite Church of Hutchinson, Kan. on March 12, 1932, where he remained a faithful member until his death; ever desiring the fellowship of the church even though his health did not permit his attendance.

Throughout the years he had been in good health, with the exception of 1957 when he underwent surgery and a period of illness. Since then he had been in good health until a year ago. He became seriously ill in Oct. 25 and was taken to the hospital, remaining there for eight days. He was able to return home and to his family for several days when it again became necessary to return to the hospital. In spite of his illness he did not complain, but with a smile could tell us that all was well and in God's hand.

On Monday evening, Nov. 11, at 6:45 p.m., having remained conscious until death came, he was relieved of his pain as God called him home. Father was called to his heavenly home at the age of 78 years, two months, and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, our mother, Elizabeth, when passed away in 1933, and he is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth and Hulda, and other relatives and friends.

We mourn but not without hope, for we know we shall meet again in our heavenly home. — The Family.
