— Mrs. A. R. Regier, who was born in Russia Feb. 7, 1877, died at her home in Hesston on Thursday, April 24. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Hebron church near Buhler, of which she was a member. Rev. Elbert Koontz and Rev. A. J. Dyck were in charge. Mrs. Regier leaves her husband, four daughters and three sons. A daughter, Mrs. George Peters, resides at North Newton.

MRS. ABE R. REGIER

Nettie Regier, nee Reimer, was born in South Russia on Feb 7, 1877, and departed this earthly life on April 24, 1952, at the age of 75 years, two months and 17 days.

While a young child she came to this country with her pearents [sic] and settled on a farm near Inman, Kansas, where she spent her childhood days, later moving to Cordell, Okla. She was baptized by Rev. Toevs upon her confession of faith and received as a member of the Bethel church.

On Nov. 9, 1896, she entered into holy wedlock with Abraham R. Regier, with whom she shared life’s joys and sorrows for 55 years. This union was blessed with 11 children, of whom four preceded her in infancy.

She was a kind, loving and concerned wife and mother, always much concerned over the welfare and salvation of her family. She prayed and read Scripture much during her life, and could quote Scripture by memory freely.

Her health failed the last years and she was bedfast for the last three months. Although she endured much suffering, she was always submissive to the Lord’s will and was ready to meet him whenever He called her home.

Verily she has fought a good fight, she has finished her course, she has kept faith. Henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give her on that day, and not to her only, but unto all them that love His appearing.

We will miss mother very much, but we rest assured that she is safe in His arms. She leaves to mourn her departure her deeply bereaved husband, seven children, Nettie (Mrs. Herman Kliewer), Ben R, Katie (Mrs. H. P. Penner), Sara (Mrs. George Peters), Abe R. Jr., Otto J., Rosella (Mrs. Floyd Hines); three daughters-in law, four sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Katie Wiens, one brother, Ben Reimer, and a host of relatives and friends. — The bereaved family.
