MRS. KATHRYN REGIER

Mrs. Kathryn W. Regier, daughter of the late Abraham and Mathilda Heinz Warkentin, was born Feb. 19, 1904, in Harvey County, Kansas. She lived in this community her entire life.

On August 9, 1934 she was married to Jacob V. Regier at her parents' home by Rev. C. H. Voth. Mrs. Regier was received into the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church on May 14, 1922 and attended there faithfully the rest of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher in the Junior Dept. of the church for many years.

Death came to Mrs. Regier on Jan. 20, 1973 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kan. where she had been a patient two and one-half weeks. She was 68 years at age. Mrs. Regier suffered her first stroke in 1961 and was confined to a wheel chair.

An infant son, Glenn Wayne, born June 25, 1946, preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1947. Surviving are her husband, Jacob; a son, Gale, of Wichita; a daughter, Betty Regier; two grandchildren; a brother, Albert Warkentin and a sister, Elizabeth Regier.

Mrs. Regier was ill for many years but never complained. Those who know her were inspired by her courage and faith. After her eyes began failing, she enjoyed listening to Gospel music, having poetry read to her, and attending church services.

A favorite scripture verse of Kathryn was Isaiah 26:4 "Trust in the Load forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock."
