HENRY B. REGIER

Henry B. Regier, son of Jacob and Mary Baergen Regier, was born Sept. 29, 1881 in Harvey County, Kansas, and died on April 13, 1967, at the age of 85 years, six months and 14 days.

He was married to Lena Nachtigal on April 5, 1908 in Hamilton County, Kansas. Here they settled on a little farm, but drought years soon caused discouragement and in 1912 they moved to Plains, Kan. In 1915 they bought a small farm in a Mennonite community at Turpin, Okla., later retiring in Turpin.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, deeply concerned about the spiritual welfare of all his children. His burden for the lost did not end in the family circle but reached to friends, neighbors and to the mission fields around the world.

Father enjoyed serving his Lord in many capacities of church work, including over half a century of Sunday school teaching. Physically he could not help with the building of the new church but stood by in daily prayers and eagerly looked forward to the day of church dedication.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lena; his children, Anna and Jake Koehn, Dave and Rosella Regier of Sheridan Lake, Colo.; Agnes and Virgil Buller, Esther and Jake Epp, Tillie and Marvin Schmidt, Henry and Evelyn Regier of Colby, Kan.; Arnold and Helen Regier and Eugene and Florence Regier of Turpin; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters.
