text of obituary:
Edward F. Reiger was born July 2, 1893, ten miles southwest of Moundridge, Kansas, and died Nov. 22, 1940, at the age of 47 years, four months and 20 days.
In 1909 he moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham J. Regier, to Burrton, and in 1910 he was baptized by the Rev. H. P. Krehbiel and received into the Burrton Mennonite church where he remained a faithful and active member until his death.
On May 19, 1918, he married Helen Dalke of Oklahoma, and to this union four children were born, Verda and Edwin of the home, and Mrs. David Dick and Wilbert. He is also survived by his wife, his mother, and two brothers, Otto and Albert. His father preceded him in death May 20,1914.
It was in February that Mr. Regier first noticed symptoms of the illness which proved fatal. Many different doctors and specialists were consulted, but to no avail. The diagnosis of cancer was the verdict of the doctors and treatments were given to the very last hopes of finding a cure, but all seemed fruitless. His Lord and savior saw best to take him Home to be with Him, where no more pain shall be and all rejoice with him for the entrance just made into the presence of his King.
Mr. Regier was a member of the Burrton Community for 341 years.
Funeral services were held at the Burrton Mennonite church Monday afternoon, Nov. 25, conducted by Rev. J. J. Regier, Jr.
Burial was in the Burrton cemetery.
