text of obituary:
DANIEL R. REGIER
Daniel R. Regier, son of Rev. P. P. and Maria Regier, was born Jan. 29, 1911, at Enid, Okla. His elementary education was received at a local country school. Later he attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. for some time.
He was converted in January 1929 during a series of revival meetings conducted by Rev. J. D. Reimer. His faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour was established, and on Sept. 29, 1929 he was baptized to the late Rev. George Voth and accepted into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church north of Enid.
On April 18, 1943 he was united in marriage to Sophia Frantz of Boyd, Okla. by the late Rev. H. P. Kliewer. Truly the water of life was found for the thirst of the solitary spirit in this marrage [sic]. Their home was established on the old home place near Enid, where wheat farming and cattle raising were the principle sources of their income. Materially God blessed this union with sufficient income for a good living.
He was elected into the deaconate of his home church in 1946, and ordained to this office by Rev. R. C. Seibel and Rev. P. R. Lange in April 19, 1953. He served in this capacity until God released him from his earthly pilgrimage on Dec. 6, 1962. His home going was sudden.
He served his church with a deep conviction that righteousness should prevail. Not outspoken in words, he lived his convictions. “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do it heartily as unto the Lord” was a favorite quotation of his.
Surviving his early departure are his wife Sophia; three daughters, Delores, Evelyn and Marcella; two sisters, three brothers, his aged mother, and a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
