HENRY P. REGEHR

Henry Peter Regehr was born on February 9, 1915 in Memrick, Russia to Peter H. and Anna (nee Reimer) Regehr. In 1926 the family came to Rosthern, Sask., and a year later to Coaldale, Alta., where Henry got his education.

At 16 his formal education ended, as his help was needed on the farm. On April 10, 1953 he married Tina Pauls. This union was blessed with two daughters. After farming for 18 years the family moved to Coaldale. One and a half years ago he suddenly became very ill. Exploratory surgery revealed cancer, but with medical help he lived a fairly active life for another year.

As he tried to lead an exemplary life he thought he was ready for death. But when he was so ill he realized his lost condition and accepted Christ as his Saviour. On New Year's day he slipped quietly away to be with his newly-found Lord.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Tina; two daughters, Carolyn and Connie; his mother, Anna Regehr, all of Coaldale; three brothers; three sisters, and many relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Pastor Rudy Heidebrecht in the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church on January 4.
