Newton, Kan. &#8212; Word has been received at the General Conference Mennonite Central Office here that Rev. C. E. Rediger, 81, of Normal, Ill., former executive-secretary of the Congo Inland Mission, died on Aug. 24. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Ill.

A native of Flanagan, Ill., Rev. Rediger attended Goshen and Bluffton colleges and received A.B. and A.M. degrees from Marion (Ind.) College.

As an ordained minister in the Evangelical Mennonite Church (formerly called Defenseless Mennonite Church), he pastored churches in Bluffton, Ohio and Chicago, Ill. He served the conference as president, 1932-35, and in other positions of leadership.

Rev. Rediger also was treasurer of Witmarsum Theological Seminary, Bluffton, Ohio, 1921-24; secretary of Marion (Ind.) College, 1924-27; business manager and treasurer of Bluffton College, 1934-36; and field representative of the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 1936-42.

He served as executive secretary of the Congo Inland Mission from 1936-1950.

Surviving him are his widow, the former Lena Mae Oyer of Normal, Ill., and two daughters.

Former Secretary Of Congo Inland Mission Dies in Illinois

Newton, Kan. — Word has been received at the General Conference Mennonite Central Office here that Rev. C. E. Rediger, 81, of Normal, Ill., former executive-secretary of the Congo Inland Mission, died on Aug. 24. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Ill.

A native of Flanagan, Ill., Rev. Rediger attended Goshen and Bluffton colleges and received A.B. and A.M. degrees from Marion (Ind.) College.
