| + | Jonas Redger was born at Pawnee Rock, Kansas, January 9, 1883, and departed this life on April 23, 1954, at 12:50 p.m. at Simon Koehn’s home where he made his home for the last five months. He reached the age of 71 years, three months and 14 days. Jonas was the son of David and Helena Jantz Redger who were among the first organizers of the Friedenstal Mennonite church. His father preceded him in death Aug. 14, 1932, his mother Oct. 9, 1944, his brother Abraham July 7, 1951. An infant sister and one niece, Fannie, also preceded him. |

He was raised in a Christian home and on July 17, 1906, was baptized and received into the Friedenstal Mennonite church, Tampa, Kansas by Rev. Peter Balzer. He received most of his elementary training in the Columbia School. At the age of 24 he moved to Beaver county, Okla., where he spent the major part of his life. He went through many hardships and trials but the Lord saw fit to bless the labor of his hands to the extent that he suffered no material needs in the latter part of his life. |
