SAM REDGER
Sam Redger, son of David and Lena (Jantz) Redger, was born May 5, 1887, near Durham, Kansas. He attained the age of 72 years, seven months, 26 days.
He spent his boyhood years on a farm in Marion county, Kan. In 1911 he came with horses and covered wagon to Kiowa county, Kan. and started to farm south of Greensburg, continuing until 1944. Then he and his wife moved to the edge of Greensburg.
Sam had a quiet disposition, was very contented and was a faithful loving husband.
He enjoyed good health until about one year ago, when failing health was noticed and his work was slowed down. On Dec. 26, 1959, he entered the hospital where he suffered much the last few days. The Lord called him home to Glory on New Year's night.
In 1925 he was baptized upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and became a member of the General Conference church. On April 5, 1925, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wedel at Meno, Okla. They were privileged to enjoy a happy married life for over 34 years.
He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted wife; two brothers, Lue Redger and Neal Redger of Durham, Kan.; one sister, Mary Schmidt of Greensburg, Kansas; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Jan. 4, 1960 at the Fleener chapel with Rev. Henry King in charge. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery.
