DANIEL REBER

Daniel Reber, son of Christian and Carolina Johanna (Unruh) Reber, was born in McPherson County, Kan. on Sept. 12, 1880; departed this life in Wesley Hospital at Wichita, Kan. on Oct. 24, 1961, aged 81 years, one month, 12 days.

As a young man he moved from McPherson County to the Crystal Springs community. On Nov. 27, 1929, he was united in marriage to Nellie May Hooley in her home near Crystal Springs, with her father, D. Y. Hooley, officiating.

For more than fifty years he lived in the Crystal Springs and Anthony communities where he was engaged in farming. During this period he became well known and was loved by his friends and neighbors.

Early in life he accepted Christ as his Saviour. He was a charter member of the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church. The family will cherish with deep appreciation the memory of his kindness and love.

Surviving are his wife; one son, John of Hutchinson, Kan.; two daughters, Ruth, Mrs. Ellis King of Harper, Kan., and Dorothy, Mrs. Bruce Pyles of Attica, Kan.; four grandchildren,; five brothers, Dave, Sam, and Ben of Harper, Kan., Jake of Harrisonville, Mo., and Chris of Anthony, Kan.; four sisters, Katie, Mrs. Dave Troyer of Attica, Kan., Anna, Mrs. John Schindler of Harper, Lizzie, Mrs. Bill Naffziger of Wichita, and Lena, Mrs. Sam Schindler of Harper. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
