ERNEST RATZLAFF

Ernst Ratzlaff of Calgary passed away Apr. 30. He was born Aug. 28, 1925 to Bernard and Wilhelemina Ratzlaff in Wymyschle, Poland. In 1929 they immigrated to Canada and bought a farm in Acme, Alta. At 14 he was baptized and joined Linden MB Church. He attended Bible school in Coaldale, Alta. for a year. In 1949 he married Erna. In 1951 they moved to Calgary, where he worked at an International Harvester dealership. He studied accounting and became accountant of the dealership until 1967, when he became controller and office manager at Alberta White Trucks. He retired in 1986 due to illness. He was active in Highland MB Church in Calgary, serving as secretary-treasurer for many years, and was also involved in the Canadian Conference. He loved outdoor activities and will be remembered for his caring and thoughtfulness. Predeceased by sons Brian in 1969 and Dennis in 1987, he is mourned by his wife Erna; children Gordon of Westbank, B.C. and Howard of Calgary; 5 grandchildren; his mother of Clearbrook and 2 sisters..
