Amish Youth Dies in Buggy-Truck Crash

Goshen, Ind. — Glenn L. Raber, 18, of Millersburg, was killed when the horse-drawn buggy he was driving was hit by a pickup truck northwest of Topeka Sept. 14.

The impact demolished the buggy and the Raber youth was thrown about 100 ft. Larry J. Freeman, driver of the pickup escaped injury but his wife was thrown out through the windshield and suffered lacerations, burns and a back injury.

Officials at the scene reported that Raber may have been asleep and that the buggy did not carry a light.

Funeral services were held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi J. Raber of Millersburg.
