Peter J. Quiring was born June 3, 1892 in Bingham Lake, Minnesota, the son of Johann and Elizabeth Quiring. After several months of illness, he passed away on February 29 in Abbotsford, B.C. As a child in 1899 he moved with his parents to Rosthern, Sask. In 1908 he was baptized and joined the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.

He was remarried in 1930 to Aganetha Tieszen, and they remained in Hepburn until retiring to Dallas, Oregon in 1948. During his retirement he enjoyed travelling and visiting friends of his youth as well as visiting the sick and shut-in among the elderly. The Quirings moved to Abbotsford, B.C. in 1972.

Funeral services were held March 4 in the Bakerview Mennonite Brethren Church. Rev. David Neumann officiated.

He is mourned by his beloved wife, Aganetha; two sons and their wives, Elmer and Louise of Saskatoon, Sask., and Abner and Ruth of Vernon, B.C.; one daughter, Luella (Mrs . Jake) Lepp of Saskatoon; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and many relatives and friends.
