MARGARET QUIRING

Margaret Quiring passed away Dec. 21. She was born Nov. 9, 1922 to Johann and Maria Neumann in Altenau, Molotschna. She experienced love and training in the Word of God, learning spiritual songs and prayer at an early age. In the 1930s the family was exiled to Siberia and both parents imprisoned, leaving the children destitute. After a fruitless day of begging, she experienced deep fear of being spiritually lost and accepted Christ. In 1936 her Aunt Katie in the Ukraine learned of their plight and eventually brought them to live with her grandparents. In 1942 she entered teacher's training in Kiev, completing it in Germany in 1944. She taught school and Sunday school with much dedication and love. She wrote many poems, which were a blessing to many. In 1948 she immigrated to Canada with all her siblings. In 1950 she married Jacob Quiring in Clearbrook, with Prov. 31:10 as wedding text. In summer, 1990 cancer was discovered, and treatment was unsuccessful. Predeceased by son Alfred Peter in 1978 and 1 sister, she is mourned by her husband; sons Ernie and David and daughter Marlene Fast, all of Abbotsford; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother. The funeral was Dec. 27 in King Road MB Church, Abbotsford, with Abe J. Konrad and A.J. Klassen ministering.
