• Funeral services or Mrs. Anna Quiring, 80, who died last Thursday morning at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel, were conducted at the Alexanderwohl Church on Sunday afternoon. Rev. Aaron Epp, the pastor, officiated. Mrs. Quiring had lived in Goessel since the death of her husband, Peter P. Quiring, in 1953. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Walter Cook of Pratt, Mrs. D. C. Wedel of Winfield, Mrs. John Ratzlaff of Goessel, Mrs. Harlan Friesen of Halstead, and Mrs. Ernest Mueller of Newton; one son, Otto Quiring of Newton; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and on brother, Henry J. Reimer of Goessel.

MRS. P. P. QUIRING

Anna Quiring, daughter of Johann W. and Agnetha Boese Reimer, was born August 16, 1882, in McPherson County, Kansas. She departed this life on April 25, 1963, having reached the age of 89 years, eight months, and nine days.

She spent her childhood days on a farm in McPherson County and attended the Pleasant Valley District School. She could not finish her education because of the early death of her father. On June 3, 1900, she was baptized by Elder Peter Balzer upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and became a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in which she retained her membership all her life.

On Dec. 19, 1905 she was united in marriage to Peter P. Quiring, with whom she was privileged to share the joys and sorrows of married life on their farm for 47 years. To this union seven children were born. A son, Ernest, preceded her in death in infancy in 1917. Father preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1953.

She had an implicit faith in God, and knew that his wisdom is far beyond man's comprehension, and that one can place one's trust and faith in Him.

She enjoyed good health until a few years ago when she submitted to surgery. While her recovery was fair, the infirmities of age began to show themselves. Several weeks ago she became seriously ill and quietly passed to her eternal home on April 25.

She leaves to mourn her departure one son, Otto and family of Newton; five daughters, Edna, Mrs. Walter Cook and family of Pratt, Martha, Mrs. D. C. Wedel and family of Winfield, Hilda, Mrs. John H. Ratzlaff and family of Goessel. There are 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were a great joy to her. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters, and one grandchild preceded her in death.

She also leaves two brothers-in-law, sour sisters-in-law, a number of nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends. All of us cherish her memory. She had a great concern for her family and served her Lord as a loving mother in the home, the community,and in the church, being the wife of a deacon in the Alexanderwohl Church. — The Family.
