MRS. SUSANNA L. PREHEIM

Susanna Lehmann Preheim was born in Turner County, South Dakota on Dec. 22, 1921, and passed away at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. D. on Thanksgiving day morning 1970. She reached the age of 48 years, 11 months and four days.

Susanna acquired her elementary education near Hurley, S. D. Her high school and one year of teachers education ere attained at Freeman Junior College and Academy of Freeman, S. D. She taught school for four years.

On Aug. 31, 1944 she was united in marriage with Reinhardt Preheim, and they shared joys and sorrows for 26 years. They resided on a farm near Marion, S. D. for 25 years and took up residence near his daughter and husband at Windom, Minn. on Feb. 28, 1970. Here she was permitted to reside only eight months until God saw fit for her to take up her residency with him in heaven.

On Oct. 2 she was stricken with a seizure while at work in the Ostenson's Variety Store. She was admitted to the University Hospital at Minneapolis for tests. At first the tests failed to reveal any serious problems and she was permitted to go home for two weeks. She was again admitted to the University Hospital where brain surgery reveals a malignant tumor. Susanna made good recovery from the surgery but again became weaker until she went into eternal sleep on Thanksgiving morning.

She had been a member of the Salem Mennonite Church of Freeman since Oct. 18, 1936 and remained an active member until her release from her earthly cares. Memorial services were held in the Salem Church on Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.

Susanna is survived by her husband, Reinhardt; one daughter and husband Colin Lepp of Windom, Minn.; two sons, Harlin of rural Windom, and Oren, a college sophomore at Freeman Junior College; her step-mother, Frances Lehmann; her sister Celia (Mrs. C. R. Fliginger) of Freeman; three brothers, Albert, Walter, and Henry of Hurley, S. D. and their wives, numerous cousins, nephews and a multitude of friends. — The Family.
