text of obituary:

GLORIA DAWN, the daughter of Jacob Jr. and Linda Schrag Preheim, was born on August 7th, 1936, at the farm home near Marion, S. D., and died April 11, 1938, having reached the age of 1 year, 8 months and 4 days. Soon after her birth a physical defect became noticeable which proved to be a hindrance to the normal development of the child. Medical aid was immediately sought for her, specialists at Sioux Falls, S. D. and also at Rochester, Minn., were consulted where her ailment was diagnosed as Hydrocephalic head, (Water head) a condition for which humanly speaking there is no cure. Gloria apparently gained in weight until she reached the age of 8 months, after which she gradually lost strength and vitality, until God in his infinite wisdom and love saw fit to relieve her of all suffering, when she quietly passed away Monday afternoon. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the (South) Salem Mennonite church. The services were conducted by Rev. Alfred P. Waltner and Rev. Albert Claassen Interment in the church cemetery.
