Ursula Plett of Vancouver passed away July 28. She was born Sept. 26, 1928 [sic] in Krippendorf, Germany. At age 5 she was hit by a ram, which damaged her spine. In 1945 she learned to know Peter Plett. They married Oct. 10, 1947. In 1947 they escaped from East Germany to West Germany. On July 16, 1949 they landed in Quebec City and moved on to Gem, Alta. After a year and a half, they moved to Aldergrove, B.C., later moving to Vancouver. In 1950, under the invitation of John Toews, she gave her life to Jesus. In 1984 she developed breast cancer, but surgery was successful in 1985. She fell a year later and her health began to deteriorate. She spent the last 7 months in St. Vincent’s Hospital on oxygen. She is survived by her husband; sons Rudy, Peter and John; daughters Katie and Irene; and 7 grandchildren. The funeral was July 31 in Fraserview MB Church, Richmond, B.C. with Peter Nikkel ministering.
