18-YEAR-OLD YOUTH KILLED, COMPANION INJURED IN CRASH
Plain City, Ohio. — Funeral services were conducted in the Amish settlement here Jan. 29 for John H. Plank, Jr., 18-year-old son of John H. Plank, who was fatally injured in a car crash on Route 76 south of Wooster. Relatives and friends from several states attended the services.
Critically injured in the accident was Roman Y. Lapp, son of John and Sarah Lapp, who is in a Columbus hospital with a crushed vertebrae and other injuries.
The two young men had been living in Wooster. It was reported that Roman Lapp went to sleep at the wheel, and the car missed a curve, jumped a small creek and hit a tree. Both youths were thrown out.
