MARSHALL PHILLIP

Marshall Philip of Valhaven Care Home, Abbotsford, B.C., passed away May 6. He was born Aug. 4, 1907 to John and Abella Philip in Aberdeen, Scotland. He served in the UK armed forces for 7 years. He married Audrey McDonald Clarke. She died in 1981. He then immigrated to Canada. In December 1992 he married Nancy Broers of Abbotsford. An accomplished artist, he is remembered for his art classes in the early 1990s. He is mourned by daughter Audrey Beattie of Surrey, B.C.; stepchildren Bill Broers of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Bev Kirk of Abbotsford; 5 grandchildren; 8 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister. The funeral was May 10 in Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, with Peter J. Klassen, Jay Neufeld and Eldon DeFehr ministering.
