Sara Frieda Peters

Sara Frieda Peters, 95, 3001 Ivy Drive, North Newton, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at Kidron Bethel Health Care.

She was born Oct. 8, 1904, in Moundridge to Abraham and Nettie (Reimer) Regier. She married George Peters May 28, 1936, in Buhler. He died Aug. 21, 1991. She taught grade school in Berlin, Buhler and Park City for 17 years. She was a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton.

Survivors include: a son, Galen Peters of Greenville, Ill.; a daughter, Anita Jantz-Miller of Lafayette Colo.; a sister, Rosella Jines of Perryton, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben Regier, Otto Regier and Abe Regier; and two sisters, Nettie Cleaver and Kate Penner.

Visitation will be from 10 a. m. to noon Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Services will follow at 2 p. m. at First Mennonite Church with Pastor Rusty Bonham officiating.

A graveside burial service will be at 4 p. m. Saturday at Buhler Cemetery in Buhler.

Memorials may be made to First Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
