JACOB WILHELM PETERS>/h3></center>

Jacob Wilhelm Peters was born in Orloff, Sagradowka in the Russian Ukraine on July 20, 1900 to Wilhelm and Anna (nee Baerg) Peters. The Peters family experienced hunger and privation during the terrible disorder that followed the Russian Revolution. Jacob Peters witnessed the slaughter of his own father, his sister and her six children by bandits in 1919. This led him to realize his lost condition and God's grace. He gave his heart to Christ and was baptized and received into the Mennonite Allianz in 1920. On February 24, 1924 he married Helena Bargen, and the next year they moved to Canada, settling in southern Saskatchewan. Here they farmed for 18 years. The Lord blessed them with seven children. In 1944 they moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and joined the South Abbotsford Mennonite Brethren Church. They retired from farming in 1963, and relocated in Clearbrook, B.C. After several years of declining health due to heart attacks, Mr. Peters passed away peacefully on June 18 in his home. He is remembered as a kind father, faithful in prayer and faithful to his convictions. He served as an usher for many years, was punctual and reliable, and a strong supporter of the local church, Christian schools and t he conference. Three children predeceased him. H e is survived by his wife, Helena; two sons , Jacob and Wilhelm of B.C.; three daughters, Helen (Mrs. Helmuthl Reimer of Reedley, California , and Katie and Betty (Mrs. Johnl Klassen of B.C.; sixteen grandchildren ; two brothers, Johann W. Peters of Clearbrook and George W. Peters of Dallas, Texas; and

many relatives and friends.
