Leonard C. Peters was born to Cornelius and Katharine (Epp) Peters Feb. 15, 1896 in York County, Nebraska. He passed away at the Henderson (Neb.) Nursing Home Jan. 17, 1979 at the age of 82. He attended rural school and grew to manhood in the Henderson community. He was baptized and received into the Bethesda Mennonite Church May 28, 1917. He remained a faithful member there the rest of his life.
He was married to Sarah Siebert Jan. 5, 1922. He lived and farmed in Hamilton County until 1950, when he retired and moved to Henderson. In March 1976 he moved to the nursing home.
He is survived by his wife Sarah; three sons and spouses— Edwin L. and Elvera Peters of Aurora, John and Donna Peters of York, and Levi and Leanna Peters of Aurora, Cornelia and Henry E. Kliewer of Aurora: 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers-Theodore and Daniel E. both of Henderson, and one sister, Sarah Peters of York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and five sisters.
