MRS. ANNA PETERS

Mrs. Anna Jantzen Peters was born on March 5, 1884, in Blumenort, Russia and died on Aug. 25, 1961 in the San Antonio Hospital at Upland, Calif. at the age of 77 years.

She came to the United States in 1902. She was married to Jacob J. Peters, who preceded her in death in 1942. the family came from Nebraska to California in 1913 and resided in Alta Loma.

Mrs. Peters fell victim to Parkinson's disease and when she was no longer able to care for herself, became a guest at an Upland nursing home where she had lived for several years. She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Aug. 21 and succumbed four days later.

Mrs. Peters became a member of the First Mennonite Church in Upland in 1914 and was active of the Missionary Society. She retired from this activity when she no longer could sew.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Christine Nielson of Malibu, Calif. and Miss Pauline Peters of Running Springs, Calif.; a son Irving Peters of Hollywood, Calif.; three brothers, John Penner of Santa Cruz, Calif., Abe Penner and George Neuman of Dearborn, Mich.

Funeral services were conducted at the Stone Funeral Chapel on Aug. 30 with Rev. LaVerne Rutschman and Dr. David D. Eitzen officiating. Interment was made at the Bellevue Mausoleum.
