MRS. D. D. PENNER

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 20, in the Trenton, Neb. Methodist Church for Mrs. Sara Wiebe Penner, 76, former resident of Hillsboro, Kan. She died Nov. 17 in Stratton, Neb.

Mrs. Penner was born May 20, 1891 near Lehigh, Kan., the daughter of Henry J. and Susanna Wiebe. She married Daniel David Penner, son of Rev. H. D. Penner, on Aug. 11, 1912, at the Tabor Church near Newton, Kan. They were members of the First Mennonite Church of Hillsboro.

In 1930 the family moved from Hillsboro to Ludell, Kan. and to Trenton, Neb. in 1940. Mr. Penner died Dec. 1960.

Mrs. Penner was very active in the work of the W. S. C. S. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Trenton Methodist church at the time of her death.

All seven children survive their parents. They are Erna Penner of Kansas City, Kan., Orville of North Newton, Don of Neosho, Paul of St. Ann, Clyde of Littleton, Colo., Geraldine Coffman of Des Moines, Iowa, and Herbert of Omaha, Neb.

Other survivors include three brothers, Jacob and Henry Wiebe of Newton and Herbert Wiebe of Hillsboro; four sisters, Mrs. P. I. Schroeder of Newton, Mrs. John Ewert and Mrs. John Pankratz of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Henry Lehrman of Aberdeen, Idaho; and 16 grandchildren.
