LYDIA PENNER

(Mrs.) Lydia Penner was born, the eldest f eight children, to Mr. and Mrs. John M. Klaassen in Hillsboro, Kansas on April 30, 903. After several years of illness she assed away on December 11, in Vancouver. The Klaassen family moved to Waldeck, ask. in 19!3. When Lydia was 15 she lost er mother, and helped to raise the remain ng children in her family. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour at an early age, nd was baptized and received into the Waldeck Mennonite Brethren Church. She ater attended the Herbert and Hepburn Sask.) Bible schools . She spent many years f her life nursing the sick and the elderly, nd dearly loved the Lord and the church, where she helped with teaching, singing, and adies' group activities. She married John Penner in 1947 and rovided a home for John's eight year old on, Clancy, who had lost his mother several ears earlier. After major surgery 11 years go her activities in the home and church were restricted. She accepted her illness as art of the Lord's plan for her life, and ppreciated the faithful visits and fellowship f other church members. Rev. John Dyck fficiated at a funeral service, held Novem er 15 at the Culloden MB Church, Vancou er. She leaves to mourn, but not without ope, her husband, John, her son Clancy and is wife, MaryAnne, three grandchildren, nd many relatives and friends.
