SUPT. OF VEGETABLE OILS REFINERY, ALTONA, FATALLY INJURED

Altona, Man. — A fall from the top of a railway tank car proved fatal to John Penner, 29-year-old refinery superintendent at Co-op Vegetable Oils plant here. He was tightening the cap on the tank car Jan. 29 when the large wrench slipped causing him to fall backwards and strike the catwalk and then the ground. He died Monday evening, Feb. 1, in St. Boniface hospital of a broken neck.

Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Altona Bergthaler church. Surviving are his wife, the former Katherine Stobbe, and two children; his parents, J. J. P. Penners, one sister and four brothers.
