Mrs. Helen Penner, daughter of Phillip and Helen Bartel Wiebe, was born in Crimea, South Russia, on Sept. 13, 1889. Here she received her education and grew to womanhood.

In 1922 with her mother and her future husband, Abraham J. Penner, she came to the United States and settled in Mountain Lake, Minn. Shortly afterward she was united in marriage to Abraham J. Penner. To this union three sons and two daughters were born.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Penner lived in Mountain Lake until 1924, at which time moved to Minneapolis. They made their home there until returning to Mountain Lake in 1931, where they have since resided.

Mrs. Penner was baptized upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ on June 24, 1907 in Russia and was received into membership of the Bethel Mennonite Church in 1922.

She submitted to major surgery in Minneapolis in September 1964, at which time she suffered a mild coronary attack from which she recovered. On July 6 she was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage and was taken to Bethel Hospital for care. Here she passed away on July 9, 1966, attaining the age of 76 years, nine months, and 26 days.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Siegfried of Wichita, Kan., Helmut of Nashville, Tenn., and Bruno of Meadows, Ill.; twin daughters, Anita Penner and Talita, Mrs. Richard Asplund, both of Minneapolis; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Blessed be her memory.

MRS. HELEN PENNER

Mrs. Helen Penner, daughter of Phillip and Helen Bartel Wiebe, was born in Crimea, South Russia, on Sept. 13, 1889. Here she received her education and grew to womanhood.
