&bull; Daniel Penner, 70, who farmed for many years in the Halstead and Burrton communities, died March 1 at the Halstead Hospital. The funeral was conducted Saturday forenoon at the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, with Rev. Arnold E. Funk in charge. Since 1959 Mr. Penner had been employed at the Bethesda Home in Goessel and later at Meadowlark Homestead near Newton, returning to the Home in Goessel about a week before his death. Survivors include his wife of the Bethesda Home, sons Don of Newton and Joe of Burrton; a daughter, Mrs. Olin Claassen of Whitewater; 10 grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters.
