ALBERT JACOB PENNER

Albert Penner of Linden, Alta., passed away on March 4. He was born on June 14, 1905 to Jacob and Catherine Penner in Ste. Anne, Man. Six years later his family moved to the Steinbach, Man. area. At age 24 he accepted the gift of salvation and was baptized. He took up farming in Linden in 1927, and married Katherine Reimer on October 27, 1929. In 1968, his failing health led the couple to move into Linden town. He is survived by his wife Katherine; his children: Luana and Gladwin Toews, Doris and Clarence Esau and Dennis and Joyce Penner; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters. The funeral was held on March 7 in the Linden Mennonite Brethren Church, with pastor David Epp in charge.
