LOUIE A. PENNER

Louie A. Penner, son of Wilhelm and Helene Hamm Penner, was born on April 7, 1892 near Beatrice, Neb.

During his childhood he attended the Blakely Country School and received additional training in the educational program of his church under the instruction of Rev. John K. Penner. Later he attended the business college in Beatrice for one year.

On June 4, 1911 he was baptized upon the confession of his faith and was received into the membership of the First Mennonite church o Beatrice. He retained this membership untilt the time of his death.

On Dec. 31, 1937 he was united in marriage with Gertrude Wiebe. One daughter, Frances Ann, was born into this home.

Mr. Penner spent his days in the farming profession, working throughout his life upon the farm where he had been born.

During more recent years his formerly active life in the work that he loved was slowed down by his illness. He realized the seriousness of his condition and felt that the call of God beckoning him to his eternal home, could come at any time.

He died suddenly on Dec. 13, 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

He is survived by his wife Gertrude; their daughter Frances Ann and her fiance Jim Stucky of McPherson, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. H. J. Epp and Mrs. John Thimm and their husbands; one brother, Frank P. Penner and his wife; and many other relatives and friends.
