— A recent issue of the Altona, Man., Echo reports that "John D. Penner, Rudnerweide, died Friday, after an illness of four months, part of this time was spent in the hospital. he was 77 years of age. Mr. Penner was well known in the community. He was born in Russia and came here in 1875, settling on a farm. he operated one of the first threshing outfits in the district."
