VIOLENT DEATHS FOR TWO MENNONITE FARMERS AT CUAUHTEMOC, MEXICO

Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. — Two farmers of the Old Colony communities here met violent deaths in December.

Shot and killed at village No. 69 on Dec. 5 was Heinrich Dyck, 39. Charged in the shooting was Dyck's neighbor, David Klassen. The tragedy in reported to have occurred at Klassen's home during an argument. Klassen reportedly later notified police of the shooting and was jailed.

Found dead on his farmyard on Dec. 14 was Jacob Penner of Schoendorf village No. 115. Wounds on his throat and body indicated he had been stabbed to death. Two Mexicans seen at the place in the evening were suspected of the crime.

Penner, a widower, was 49.

MURDERER OF MEXICO FARMER APPREHENDED

Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. — Authorities apprehended a 22-year-old ex-convict whom they charged with the slaying of Jakob Penner, Mennonite farmer at Schoendorf No. 115, in early December.

Penner, a widower, apparently was killed on his yard early in the evening.
