text of obituary:
HENRY PENNER
Henry Penner was born December 12, 1880, son of Johannes and Magdalene Penner, nee Penner, on a farm near Beatrice, Nebraska. He received his education in a parochial school.
On June 5, 1900, he was baptized upon confession of faith by Elder Gerhard Penner. He was married to Margarete Hamm on Oct. 22, 1931. God blessed this union with one son, Henry Jr.
Most of his life was spent on a farm near Beatrice until he moved to the city. He enjoyed good health until Oct. 31, when he took ill. On Nov. 5 he was taken to the Mennonite hospital and later to an Omaha hospital where he underwent major surgery. He was recovering satisfactorily until he was called home suddenly in the early hours of December 12 on his 67th birthday.
At his sudden passing he leaves his wife, Margarete, and son, Henry Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Wiebe and Mrs. C. von Riesen; and many relatives and friends.
The verse of Scripture found in Isaiah 41:10 was a great comfort to the departed during his brief illness; "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; . . ."
