Manitoba Youth Dies Of Accident Injury
Steinbach, Man. — Injuries suffered in a highway accident early Sunday, Nov. 22, proved fatal one week later to Harold Penner, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Diedrich Penner of Grunthal.
Funeral services for the youth who was a student at the Grunthal Collegiate, were held on Dec. 1.
The Penner youth and three companions were all thrown from their car when it failed to negotiate a curve near the Winnipeg Trans-Canada by-pass and rolled over several times.
Ben Friesen, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Friesen, suffered fractures of the arm and leg and severe injuries to his head and back. He is reported improving at St. Boniface Hospital. His brother Corny Friesen, 20, and Ben Martens, 18, escaped serious injury.
