FRANK G. PENNER

Frank Penner was born on October 5, 1882 in Hampton, Nebraska. He came to Canada in 1904 and homesteaded south of Langham, Saskatchewan, in the Neuhoffnung district. Being mechanically-minded, he was instrumental in breaking up much of the virgin sod with his large steam and gasoline engines.

In 1912 he married Annie Peters. This union was blessed with four children: two boys and two girls. He was predeceased by their youngest son, Louie, in 1954 as a result of a plane crash.

He enjoyed the fellowship of the church and was baptized in 1934. The Penners lived on the farm until 1948 when they retired to live in Saskatoon. On November 13, at the age of 91, he passed on to his eternal rest. Even when he was not well, in his later years, he often quoted Scripture verses. His eternal salvation was a very important matter to him.

The funeral was held in the Central MB Church in Saskatoon, Sask. on November 17. Rev. Lorlie Barkman, a grandson-in-law, officiated.

He leaves to mourn his wife Annie; two daughters: Irene (Mrs. Ben) Wall of Saskatoon, and Mary (Mrs. Jake) Wall of Borden, Sask.; one son William of Saskatoon; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
