MRS. EVA PENNER

Eva Penner, nee Harms, was born in Poland on August 21 in the year of 1870 and died February 7, 1948. In 1874 she emigrated to America with her parents and settled at Peabody, Kans. On April 8, 1890, she was united in marriage with Benjamin J. Harms with whom she lived 27 years and one month, her husband then being killed in a tornado. The buildings were demolished and mother was lying unconscious under a hedge.

Approximately two years later on January 19, 1919, she was united in marriage with our father, A. B. Penner, who preceded her in death on February 12, 1937, having lived together 18 years and seven days. After his departure she lived alone 11 years less four days, reaching the age of 77 years five months and seven days.

She leaves to mourn: One sister, Mrs. Nelle Kliewer of Glendale, Calif., partly reared three children, Theodore Epp, Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Ida Klassen, Whitewater, Kans., an Indian girl in Calif., and a foster daughter Linda; six step-children, Aaron Penner, Orienta, Okla., Mrs. Mary Hildebrand, Cleo Springs, Okla.. Mrs. Elisabeth Martens, Orienta, Okla., Mrs. Sarah Nusz, Wellington, Kans., Mrs. Margaret Foth, Orienta, Okla., and Abe Penner, Fairview, Okla.; 53 step-grandchildren, 34 step-great-grandchildren and hosts of friends and relatives.

She accepted Christ as her Saviour and was deeply concerned about spiritual things. She attended church regularly if at all possible and spent much time in prayer. Her desire was to be at home with her Saviour. She suffered a stroke which was the cause of her death. — The Children.
