ALICE LOUISE PENNER

Our little darling Alice Louise Penner, daughter of John N. and Alma (Ensz) Penner, entered our family circle on May 26, 1956. She was born in Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kans. She passed away in Bethel Hospital, Newton, Kans., on Sept. 25, 1956 at 4:50 a. m., reaching the age of four months less one day. Her early death was caused by a complication of a virus infection.

She was a strong, healthy baby, and her coming into our home brought much joy and sunshine. The Lord seemed to give us a special love for little Alice. Her little face with sweet smile and near blue eyes will remain a fond picture in our memory. Her sisters and brother took great pleasure in caring for her every need, especially Marlys, 14, who is at home this winter

About three weeks ago her condition gave us some concern, but she seemed to improve again. On Sept. 18 she was admitted to Mercy Hospital for observation, but did not seem to be seriously ill so we took her home again. Sunday she became considerably worse. Monday morning we took her to the Bethel Hospital, where in spite of doctors' help and loving care she lost strength. During the following night, through her intense suffering, the Lord prepared us to submit to His will. We are looking forward to a happy meeting over yonder.

She leaves to mourn her sudden passing her deeply bereaved parents; two sisters, Marlys, 14, Betty, 11, and one brother Eldon, 7; Grandfather Isaac Ensz, grandmother Marie Penner, Great-grandparents John B. Toews; aunts, uncles and many relatives and friends.

The funeral took place Sept. 28 at 1 p. m. in the home, where Min. John A. Ensz spke words of comfort and at 2 p. m. in the Zion Church. Opening remarks and prayer were by Min. A. D. Koehn. Min. A. R. Toews brought the message based on Job 14:1-2, Psa. 4-5, Mark 10:13-16 and John 14:1-3. Burial took place in the nearby cemetery.
