Minister at Belleville, Pa. Dies Suddenly
EMANUEL B. PEACHEY, 54, COLLAPSES WHILE AT WEDDING RECEPTION
Belleville, Pa. — Emanuel B. Peachey, 54, retired bishop and minister of the Locust Grove Mennonite church here, collapsed while attending a wedding reception here the evening of June 26 and died a short time later.
Funeral services were held at the Locust Grove church on June 29 with Erie Renno is charge, assisted by Emanuel Swartzendruber of Pigeon, Mich. and Alvin Swartz of Calvert, Ky.
Bishop Peachy had given the sermon at a wedding in the Locust Grove church and was attending the reception in the Belleville Community Hall when he slumped over in his chair.
Ordained to the ministry in 1936 and to the office of bishop in 1937, he had traveled widely in evangelistic and Bible teaching work. He leaves his widow and daughter Miriam of the home, three brothers and seven sisters.
