SARAH A. PAULS
Sarah A. Fehdrau Pauls was born Feb. 16, 1908, at Inman, Kan., one of eight daughters of Jacob and Sara Androes Fehdrau. She died march 29, 1989, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, after a lengthy illness.
She attended South Inman School and Hoffnungsau Preparatory School for two years. She was baptized by Klas Kroeder on May 27, 1928, at Bethel Mennonite Church rural Inman.
On June 12, 1929, she was married to George A. Pauls. They farmed near Inman for more than 40 years.
Highlights of her life were the celebrations of their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries in 1954 and 1979, respectively.
She maintained a strong sense of duty throughout her life. She taught Sunday school for many years at Bethel Church. She especially enjoyed raising flowers and took much pride in her garden. Some of the good memories of the children and grandchildren were the family dinners and holiday gatherings at her house.
In 1979 she and her husband moved to Inman, where they lived for five years. In 1985 she entered the Bethel Home for Aged, Newton, where she resided until moving to Pleasant View Home in January 1989.
Survivors include her husband, George A.; three sons and their wives, Vernon and Janice of rural McPherson, Melvin and Nancy of Newton and Ronald and Evelyn of Henderson, Neb.; one daughter and her husband, Lavella and Howard Delaplane of Ames, Okla.; five sisters, Hilda Ediger, Mary Neufeld and Esther Regehr, all of Inman, and Dora Schierling and Agnes Ediger, both of Hutchinson, and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded death by two sisters, Helen Regehr and Eva Regehr, and a granddaughter, Rhonda Pauls.
Funeral services were held April 1, 1989, at Bethel Church, with D. A. Raber officiating. Interment was in North Inman Cemetery.
