MRS. FRANK F. PAULS

Mary F. Pauls, daughter of Peter J. and Anna Nachtigal, was born on July 30, 1892, near Buhler, Kan. She left this life for the heavenly home with Christ at Fairborn, Ohio, Aug. 9, 1968, at the age of 76 years and nine days.

She was 14 years old when her mother died and being the oldest daughter in the family, she had to assume the responsibility for the household duties, which was a heavy load for a young teenager. Her duties often forced her to her knees to seek divine guidance and help.

As a teenager she came to feel the need of a Savior. On April 18, 1909, she was baptized upon her faith in Christ and received into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church of Buhler, Kan., whose faithful member she remained all the days of her life.

She loved the Lord and the church and took great delight in singing in the church choir and taking part in other church activities.

April 24, 1912, she was married to Frank F. Pauls. This union was blessed with one son and one daughter.

She did not have a strong body and was sickly most of her life. However, she and her husband were able to live together for more than 56 years. In June 1962 they commemorated their 50th wedding anniversary with family, relatives and friends in the church in Buhler.

Because of her failing health, they left Buhler, where they had lived all of their lives, and moved to Fairborn, Ohio in October 1967 to be near their daughter. On June 29 of this year a heart attack caused her to fall and break an elbow. She was taken to Green Memorial Hospital at Xenia, Ohio, where surgery was performed. She soon returned home but after three days infection set in and she was readmitted to the hospital. The infection was promptly taken care of, but other complications set in and on Aug. 9, at 2:30 p.m., she peacefully fell asleep here to awaken in the presence of her Savior and Lord. The doctors diagnosed the immediate cause of her death as heart failure.

Those of her immediate loved ones whom she has preceded are: her husband, Frank F. Pauls, Fairborn, Ohio, a son Curt, and wife Frances, Adams, Okla., a daughter, Lillian and husband, Herbert R. Kroeker, Fairborn, Ohio; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Suderman, Garden City, Kan., Gary and Randy Pauls, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kroeker, Columbus, Ohio, Warren and Sharon, great-grandchildren Debra and Gregory Suderman.
